CRR will be offering an exciting incentive for members to participate in USATF-NE races. How does it work?
-

-
In order to qualify, affiliate your USATF-NE membership with Colonial Road Runners at the time of registration, so that you are running under the CRR team.
-
We encourage you to wear club clothing when participating in USATF-NE races – it’s all about the team spirit!
-
After you complete 4 races, email usatf@colonialrunners.org and let us know! Once we verify your participation as a CRR member, we reimburse your USATF-NE dues! Easy as that!
Why are we doing this?
-
Participation in USATF-NE races is a great way to check out the running scene throughout New England and get exposed to some larger races. If you’re new to running, don’t worry – there are runners of all paces and experience levels at these races, so you won’t be alone!
-
For those CRR members with some racing experience, the USATF-NE series provide an awesome opportunity to match up against some seriously fast runners throughout the region and engage in friendly competition both on a club and individual level.
-
Similar to our own Grand Prix series, participation counts. Challenge yourself to achieve an IronRunner or Mountain Goat designation by participating in races throughout each series. Or step outside your comfort zone and check out some trail races.
-
Let’s show that we’re proud to be Colonial Road Runners! The USATF-NE race series are all about club pride – filled with runners wearing their team singlets and representing clubs throughout the region. It’s time to get CRR’s name out there and show New England what we’ve got!
What is the USATF-NE Grand Prix series all about?
The USATF-NE Grand Prix series consists of races of varying distances, ranging from 5K to full marathon, where participants accrue individual and team points. Competition is held in multiple categories, including Open Division (men and women), and several age-based categories. Points are awarded to all scoring teams, and at the end of the year, prize money is awarded to those clubs with the highest number of accumulated points. On an individual level, points are also awarded to the top 10 finishers in each age group for each race, with total points tallied at the end of the season to determine individual age group winners.
The Grand Prix also offers an IronRunner designation for any USATF-NE member completing all 7 Grand Prix races. IronRunners are awarded a special jacket at the end of the series for this accomplishment. For more information about the Grand Prix series, check out the USATF-NE website here: http://newengland.usatf.org/Sports/Road-Running.aspx#calendar
What is the USATF-NE Mountain Running Circuit?
The Mountain Circuit consists of 8 races of varying distances, ranging from 1.8 to 10 miles, with an opportunity for both individual and team scoring. For individual scoring, runners accrue points based on their time as a percentage of the winner’s overall time. A runner’s top 6 of 8 races are totaled and eligible for individual awards. In addition, there is an opportunity for team scoring for the top 5 Open, top 5 Masters’ and top 3 Seniors, Men and Women.
The Mountain Circuit also offers a special Mountain Goat designation for any USATF-NE member completing 6 out of 8 circuit races. Mountain Goat designees are awarded a special T-shirt, as well as the opportunity to bypass the Mount Washington Road Race Lottery.
